NBE has the capability to design, manufacture and develop a complete engine to a specific set of regulations from a clean sheet of paper. Throughout our history our experienced team has been working on many different engine configurations; inline 4, V6, V8, V10 normally aspirated and turbocharged. Our design office uses the latest software to ensure that our products are of the highest possible standard.
Thanks to this extensive knowledge and experience our design department has the capabilities to take on any competition engine or a low volume engine design project. In-house manufacturing increases the level of confidentiality and allows the designers to take into account ease of manufacture at an early stage of the design process.
Engine Analysis software enables us to achieve optimum performance and reduce design times dramatically. It is at a point where we can accurately predict and optimise engine performance and component durability before the engine has been manufactured.
Neil Brown Engineering is continually investing in the latest CFD, FEA and 1D simulation software and testing equipment to support the design process. In combination with the many years of experience of our staff we are able to achieve optimum performance and reduce design times dramatically. This service is not exclusive to our own projects, we can perform FEA, CFD and 1D engine simulation.
We continuously seek to maintain our competitive advantage by investing in the most advanced facilities, technology and equipment. Since 2000, we have extended our premises enabling us to successfully manage several projects at once, proven by our continued success on the track.
Our engine-building workshop is purpose-built, temperature-controlled and separate from the machining facilities. This is vital in the production of race engines that run very exact tolerances and need to be kept perfectly clean.
We offer a full rebuilding and manufacturing of specialist one off components.
Neil Brown Engineering prides itself on manufacturing high quality engine components. Components go through strict inspection and measurement processes, using the latest CMM measuring technology and PC-DMIS software.
Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) ensure components meet tolerance limits specified by the design process. Our manufacturing and inspection workshops are temperature-controlled at optimum level.
We have a team of engine builders with vast experience of building competition engines. The build quality of our engines is second to none and new challenges are never a problem. We offer full rebuilding and restoration of classic engines.
The engine assembly facilities include all of the latest equipment to measure, inspect and assemble engine components. We can carry out non-destructive testing and we have component sonic cleaning facilities.
All of our engines are closely monitored for wear and component life, we can accurately predict how long each component should last and our designers are always at hand to make improvements to engine components based on close inspections.
In-house development and testing is continually used to gain engine performance to ensure we supply the very best in engine performance, reliability and durability.
We have three eddy current engine dynos of different capacities to enable us to test engines up to 1000PS and up to the highest possible accuracy. Besides performance and reliability development we use our dynos for running in and power checking each engine before it leaves the premises.
We also have a component dyno on which we can drive individual subassemblies to check friction losses and reliability as well as a flow bench. We continue to invest in the latest technology and equipment.
We have built up an excellent reputation for top quality track support over the years which enables us to supply skilled and experienced engineers for any of our projects anywhere in the world.
Our support system means customers are able to rely on Neil Brown Engineering to supply continual support and development. Our support can be tailored to the customers’ requirements with specialist staff to cover all aspects of engine operation including, engine diagnosis, data logging, software and fault diagnosis.
We offer wiring loom design and installation to complement our engine projects. We have experienced staff who can supply neat and reliable solutions to suit our customers individual requirements.
